Proving again that she is an out-and-out star once again out front of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at the recent Southbound, Karen O unveils another side to her talents on this soundtrack album to the hugely vauntedWhere The Wild Things Are soundtrack. She may be backed by ‘The Kids’ but this sure isn’t some kind of fluffy Sesame Street romp. Much like the film recalls hints of childhood and reclaims it for the younger and older alike, there’s a youthful tinge to these songs with a knowingness at the same time.

The result is the kind of music that will break any bad mood. Oddly enough, if you like the afterglow of listening to bands like The Polyphonic Spree you’ll also love for this. It’s not just for kids!
